There are many, many facts about the human body that a nurse practitioner should know. It’s part of the job for someone in this position to know a lot about the body and health. Here are 7 of those facts about the human body that every nurse practitioner should know.

Nerve Impulses Travel Fast

Nerve impulses travel at a speed of up to 170 miles an hour. This is why you don’t have to wait to feel sensations in your hands, your feet, or anywhere else on your body. It is also why you can think about moving your body and then do so without a delay. Nurse practitioners need to know this because pain signals travel this quickly too so they shouldn’t be slow when getting you pain medication when you need it.

The Brain Cannot Feel Pain

This is just an interesting fact. The brain may be where the signals for the pain that you feel go but the brain itself cannot feel pain because it does not have any nerves. Of course your brain isn’t the only thing above your neck so you are still susceptible to headaches and other types of discomfort. It’s just not coming from your brain.

The Brain Uses 20% Of The Oxygen In The Bloodstream

This fact is important because the amount of the oxygen in the bloodstream is not a given. Many people take in shallow breaths out of habit and because they are never forced to take in deeper breaths because of exercise. This means that certain feelings of unease or fatigue can be contributed to just by not breathing deeply enough. Nurse practitioners should know this so they can look out for it.

Human Hair Is Almost Indestructible

That’s right. Human hair burns but it is resistant to just about everything else, even many acids and other corrosive chemicals. This is just another fun fact.

Stomach Acid Is Really Strong

Not only can stomach acid digest normal meals but it can also work its way through many types of metal. You should never, ever test this fact but it does help nurse practitioners to remember the importance of dealing with conditions involving stomach acid, like acid reflux.

Stomach Lining Is Replaced About Twice A Week

Every 3 or 4 days you have a whole new stomach lining. The reason for this is the strong acid that was mentioned in the previous point. That acid would eat right through this lining if it weren’t replaced on such a regular basis.

Women’s And Men’s Hearts Can Behave Differently

Women’s hearts tend to beat faster than men’s hearts. This could be due to the typical difference in body size between men and women. A nurse practitioner needs to know this because treatments for things like heart attacks may not work for both men and women. With the differences that are present before trauma, the behavior of men’s and women’s hearts in trauma may not be similar enough to respond to the same treatment.

Over the past 25 years, we saw an increase in the revolution in technology used for the study and learning – not only in the field of study and design complexity, such as computer training.

Most of the research and development is focused on parts of the brain used to understand new ideas and to preserve long-term especially for too. This research led to a study of strategies that map to the study of the known functions of the brain. The result is learning and training methods that are better suited for students and flexible in its approach to the techniques traditionally assumed.

None of these plans on a 9-5 Desk study and memorize a large class. Without recognition the day of the process in general, the life of Charles Dickens. In the future, using new and innovative technical forums in the context of intelligent technologies such as Internet and facilities for distance learning. Now, the students choose when and where they study in response to, what they really feel, in their own training programs, rather than given a fixed regime arbitrarily third.

Formula One has seen fantastic results in higher growth and, finally, the results achieved by the pupils themselves countries, the barriers between students and the educational resources have – see whether geographical or natural – a growing use of “distance learning” system. New Zealand and Sweden, for example, uses the same techniques teleconference about a high-quality teacher training directly to the homepage of the students are both growing – results more than the average performance in the world.

Long-term study by the Air Force (USAF) and the comparative study of the American Association of American football focuses on the question – “If the most talented students in learning? While all studies of human nature in their individual facts and circumstances, a accepted number of similarities are obvious. The income is then, the new methods of training and strong.

One of the first discoveries was during the morning – or when the person wakes up from sleep clear (whether the various activities that you day and night) – function in the brain, especially notable for its survival. The parts of the brain work more effectively balance the individual in his place to determine the temperature of the day, and more. It is also part of the brain is dominant (so to speak) at this time is closely related to short-term memory.

As a “tag” is growing with crossover to a dominant position in the brain. The survival – or short-term memory – and more defined tasks of long-term memory is. It is likely that the students begin to understand that they are more likely to be eaten by a saber-toothed tiger, tiger! In general, this process in the 11th, and moved to the 2nd Place in the afternoon – again assuming that we receive it, with a ring from Monday to Friday, 9-5 job. About 2 clock in the afternoon, the function of the brain is closely associated with the retention of memory to resist. It is around this point that both the U.S. Air Force and US-American football is the greatest success in teaching their students in complex maneuvers, when dog-fighting skills, abilities or low flying all the songs a team in soccer.

The lessons can translate to a larger arena other disciplines and industries. Some companies in the United Kingdom has managed to include the philosophy of their system of education. Here, students have access to the highest quality resources for teachers on a 24×7 basis. Models exist that the students to decide when and where they study, so that they can find their own sweet seats 2 “and choose the best environment to foster the long term memory brain.

Traditional education is by nature more serious and difficult to change. Nevertheless, with clear evidence of abandonment of traditional structure of education – including the dependence on paper and pencil, and the sum of knowledge in an analysis – as evidence has shown that not to mark the whole world an atmosphere of pure contemplation, and to test the question of the day from May to favor some students over others.

With a length further information and the pool, where we have new ideas, we see a personalized training from the classroom. People seek to methods, times of day and the origin of the material that best suits their lifestyle, their budget and needs. Whether from a single system or through a formalized training is ultimately the goal of achieving more. Early indicators suggest that this is the result.
